Our Story

At the end of 1998 in world markets, prices of gold and other metals are at rock bottom.  We are young mineral exploration geologists, fresh out of college and looking for a job!  Meanwhile, the media are covering a horror story in the housing market; The Pyrite Problem!  Crushed stone backfill materials swelling and cracking residential foundations in the greater Montreal area.

We see this as an opportunity to combine our skills with market needs by providing our very first testing service: The Pyrite Test

In August 1999, it was with a few dollars and a cell phone in our pockets that we took your first sampling calls and performed your first analyzes in laboratories borrowed from our University’s Geology department.

More than 20 years later and after the tremendous growth of our company and laboratory-based services, we still take your calls with the same enthusiasm and personalized approach that has defined us from the start.
